If you’re looking for fun for the whole family, come out to one of Gage County’s events! With local events like Homestead Days, Oktoberfest, Ribfest, and the Holiday Lighted Parade offers residents year-round celebrations and festivals. The cornerstone event for our area, Homestead Days celebrates the rich homesteading history in Gage County. This history is well-recorded at Gage County’s Homestead National Historical Park, an ode to Daniel Freeman, the first person to file a claim under President Lincoln’s Homestead Act. In addition to the park grounds and history, the Park organizes numerous festivals and events throughout the year and can even help visitors track down their own homesteading roots.
Situated picturesquely amongst historical architecture, The Beatrice Creative District holds boutique shops, public art, a local brewery, restaurants, and live performances. In the district, Nebraska’s entrepreneurial spirit thrives through community events, festivals, parades, plays, live music, farmers’ markets, and wine tastings.
