C4K is the Communities for Kids initiative created by the Nebraska Children and Families Foundation (Nebraska Children) in response to the shortages of high-quality childcare throughout Nebraska. 

Gage County is a Community for Kids! With a deficit of nearly 400 childcare spots in the county, there is a great need to assist local childcare providers willing to combat this issue.

C4K Capacity Expansion Grant

Thanks to funding from Nebraska Children and the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, the Gage County C4K team created a Childcare Capacity Expansion Grant. Local childcare providers submitted applications that were reviewed and selected by a committee of community stakeholders, NGage staff, and NGage board members. The requirements:

Once awarded, all awardees must increase capacity.

C4K Capacity Expansion Grant Awardees

After a rigorous review process, four childcare providers were selected to receive a C4K Capacity Expansion Grant of various denominations. The grant awardees are:

Collectively, their adherence to the terms of the C4K Capacity Expansion Grant increases capacity by 84 spots, reducing the deficit by 21%.
