NGage believes Gage County could soon become a critical part of a regional carbon capture and sequestration pipeline. This process involves pulling the greenhouse gas, carbon dioxide (CO2), from various sources and storing it deep underground. Tallgrass is one of the many companies able to retrofit their equipment to capture and transport CO2, such as the Trailblazer Pipeline.

Existing Infrastructure to be Retrofitted for Carbon Capture and Sequestration

The Trailblazer Pipeline stretches from northern Colorado to Beatrice. Enterprises involved in green energy practices may have the opportunity to connect to the pipeline deposit CO2 while sequestration efforts would occur elsewhere along the pipeline. Important industrial companies around Gage County, like Koch Fertilizer, Marathon Petroleum Corp, and Nebraska Public Power, have the potential to set the stage for future growth in this lucrative industry.
