MyPlace Hotel Announced in Beatrice
Beatrice, Nebraska - Beatrice Lodging, LLC proposes to build a prototype 3-4 story interior corridor MyPlace Extended Stay Hotel. The hotel will feature between 46-50 extended stay rooms with kitchenettes and will have a stone and siding exterior with an entry porte cochere for dropping off guests and luggage. The Hotel will be situated on approximately 2 acres of land just north of the existing Holiday Inn Express. Beatrice Lodging, LLC has entered into a purchase and sale agreement with Beatrice Hospitality, LLC to purchase the land and the City is to award Tax Increment Financing for the project, pending the re-platting of the land.
“MyPlace Hotel will fill a need for extended stay lodging in Beatrice”, said Mike Works of Beatrice Lodging, LLC. “I’m excited about bringing this prototype hotel to a market with demand for lodging and thankful for the efforts by the City of Beatrice and NGage for assisting in the process”.
Construction of the proposed Hotel will require between 100-125 construction employees and managers. Upon completion of the new hotel, 4-6 Full-time positions will be created. An additional 6-10 part time positions will also be created depending upon the time of year.
Gage Area Growth Enterprise (NGage) commissioned Core Distinction Group LLC to provide a Comprehensive Lodging Feasibility Study for the Beatrice, NE market area in 2017. The study’s results showed a need for 45 -55 guestrooms. Walker Zulkoski, NGage Executive Director, said “NGage set out to understand the demand for hotel space in Beatrice and a need for lodging was identified. We are thrilled that Beatrice Lodging, LLC has chosen to invest in our community and help Beatrice retain significant lodging and sales tax revenue.”
Construction of the new hotel will commence in the spring of 2019 and open in the spring of 2020.
