Nebraska’s cheeky tourism slogan, “Honestly, it’s not for everyone.”, is as candid as it is rib-tickling. Nebraska isn’t for everyone, it’s true. For intrepid nature and wildlife lovers, however, Nebraska is something of a dream. You can breathe here, with wide open spaces that provide solitude, stupefying sunsets, dark sky star parties, and endless bird watching opportunities at over 400 public-access sites and trails.
The unyielding weather in the cornhusker state varies from west to east, with hot and humid summers and icy winters, and Nebraska, located in Tornado Alley, is no stranger to destructive twisters. No doubt, the extreme climate, along with the relatively low population of under two million, contributes to the resiliency, loyalty and strength of the communities that live here, making this slice of the Midwest home to some of the friendliest folks you’ll ever meet.
