A study from the Bureau of Business Research at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln shows that the state saw a good return on aid it provided to early stage companies.
According to the study, the Nebraska Business Innovation Act grant program provided about $22.5 million to early stage companies in 2016 and 2017. Those companies went on to raise $100.3 million in capital while generating $100.6 million in revenue.
Businesses participating in the study also created 630 new jobs with annual wages totaling $32.6 million, while generating a nearly $328.4 million statewide economic impact.
