Students at Southeast Community College’s Beatrice campus will have new amenities beginning next fall when a new residence hall and dining center are put into service.
Work is beginning on the project, and area officials gathered at the campus Tuesday for a groundbreaking ceremony at the site of the future residence hall.
“We’re looking forward to a rebuilt campus over the next couple of years,” said campus director Robert Morgan. “The residence hall and the dining hall is the first start to a wonderful start for our students. If you look at competition today, we know we need to be what students want. This new residence hall will give us that.”
The future dining hall will cost around $3 million, while the residence hall has an expected cost of up to $8 million.
