Governor's Cup Wins in a Row

Our team at NGage is here to support and assist your business as we work together to grow the economy in Gage County. One of the ways that we promote economic development is by hitting the road…attending trade shows, visiting company headquarters, and participating in Nebraska trade missions. We view these as opportunities to help support local businesses and to identify complementary companies or industries that could service or become customers of businesses in our area.
Our work is not in creating competitors for local businesses but in identifying ways to compliment what is already happening in the county. “Our goal is to keep everyone here happy, growing, and successful” said Walker Zulkoski, Executive Director, NGage.
Last November, NGage Executive Director, Governor Ricketts, and a Nebraska Delegation traveled to the world headquarters of JiangSu World Group, the owner of Worldlawn Power Equipment. Worldlawn purchased the Husqvarna building in North Beatrice and has invested in our local community through real estate and job creation. We are proud to have them as a thriving business in our county and wanted to extend our appreciation for their continued investment in Beatrice.
By traveling to China, we established a relationship with company leaders, offering our assistance as a resource in the United States. Trade missions like these are important because they accomplish two things. First, they personalize a business deal, making it a relationship instead of a transaction. Second, it establishes NGage and Nebraska leaders as a friendly resource, should JiangSu World Group and Worldlawn decide to further expand in the United States. We want them to think of Gage County and Nebraska first, before looking elsewhere to meet their business needs. Now, they can pick up the phone or send an email, knowing who they are dealing with on the other side. This is critical for establishing prosperous long-term business relationships.
NGage also attends tradeshows locally and throughout the country, promoting existing businesses in Gage County. In February, we are attending Plastec West in Anaheim, California. Our purpose in attending the tradeshow is two-fold. With the conversion of an old coal power plant into hydrogen, a material called carbon black is being created on the border of Gage County. Carbon black is used in the plastic industry to manufacture other goods. By establishing connections with plastics companies, we can help to promote the market for Nebraska carbon black. Additionally, we will be networking to establish relationships with companies that could complement what is happening at the hydrogen plant.
If your company needs support by way of identifying complementary businesses or if you would like us to deepen relationships with your headquarters, let us know. We are here to assist you and to help you grow for the betterment of your business and all of Gage County.
