With a total population of 22,000, Gage County has an average population density of 27 people per square mile. That leaves a lot of wildlife to be explored.
Spread throughout Gage County, locals and visitors can find a fair share of fishing, boating, and camping (such as at Big Indian Creek Reservoir and Rockford Lake). Likewise, there are Archery ranges, as well as plenty of locations for hunting deer, turkey, pheasant, and geese. The active, but less wilderness inclined, can find biking and hiking trails throughout the county, as well as parks. And in Beatrice and Wymore, those into aquatics can find a water park or two.
For the curious explorers and historians, there is the Homestead National Monument (here), a National Park service with over 185 acres.
