UNMC, Nebraska Medicine are drivers for economy, study finds

Nebraska Medicine and the University of Nebraska Medical Center account for $1 out of every $25 spent in Nebraska, considering how their spending ripples through the economy, and they employ more than 13,000 people.
That’s up from 9,000 in 2006.
And that’s just for starters, says Dr. Jeffrey Gold, UNMC chancellor and chairman of Nebraska Medicine’s advisory board.
