Monday, December 05, 2016
Gage County has set a high bar for the next five years in order to bring more housing options to the county. A Housing Study was conducted by Gage Area Growth Enterprise (NGage) starting in September 2015 and was completed in March 2016. (More on the story here: http://bit.ly/2cLh5tb) By 2021 the county should build a total of 446 new units; 283 owner units and 163 rental units. The completion of the “Gage County Five-Year Housing Action Plan” will begin with preparation of affordable housing projects.
The plan will address all aspects of housing, including new construction, housing rehabilitation, the removal of inhabitable housing, the reuse of infill residential lots, appropriate housing administration and code and zoning enforcement. This includes housing for low-to moderate-income families, the elderly and special population households, with attention given to workforce households.
