What Do Gage County Residents Think?

Thursday, January 29, 2015

Over 500 Gage County residents filled out the online ECAP Discovery Tool survey regarding how they feel about Gage County and their local community entrepreneurial climate.  Gage County community leaders and residents are invited to Community Conversation meetings to find out how Entrepreneurial Communities are defined and what local residents feel about Gage County and their local community.  Follow up meetings will be held to determine a vision related to the results and what action should be taken. ECAP meetings are open to the public and your input is needed to move this process forward.

Save the date of Tuesday, February 3 for the first Community Conversation in Beatrice.  The 7:00 p.m. meeting will be held at the Beatrice Good Samaritan Society Event Room located at 401 S 22nd Street, Beatrice.  Park and enter on the east side of the facility.

The second community meeting is scheduled for February 19, where participants will work together on a shared vision for the future of Gage County and your local community.  Subsequent meetings will be scheduled as needed.

Beatrice/Gage County was selected as the eighth city /county to participate in the Entrepreneurial Communities Activation Process (ECAP) program facilitated by the University of Nebraska Lincoln Extension program.  The program is a pilot program funded by the Rural Futures Initiative.  University staff working on entrepreneurial and rural community development along with rural poll experts are assisting with the program.  The Beatrice Area Chamber of Commerce, Main Street Beatrice and Gage Area Growth Enterprise (NGage) have worked collaboratively to facilitate this effort and will be hosting the Community Conversation meetings.
