Community Survey & Public Meeting to Help With Small Business Development

August 23, 2017 – Local community groups are working on a Market Retail Study Project that they hope will strengthen efforts at small business development in Beatrice.

Main Street Beatrice, The Beatrice Area Chamber of Commerce, and Gage Area Growth Enterprise (NGage) are working with Barman Development Strategies to look at Beatrice’s current and potential market position, data, and trends.  The Market Retail Study Project efforts will culminate in transformation and development strategies geared to assist with small business development in Downtown Beatrice and throughout the entire Beatrice Community.

The public is being asked to help out in two primary ways:

#1) We Need Your Voice in our Community Survey.

For the remainder of this week we are asking for the communities input on a survey that will help our team better understand the community’s current assets and vision for Beatrice.

To take the survey visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Beatrice-assets or visit the Main Street Beatrice, Beatrice Chamber, or NGage Websites.    Please help us and take the survey today!

#2) Attend a Community Meeting on Monday, August 28th at 5:30pm

Location: Former Radio Shack/Future site of Colleen’s Catering >> 620 Court Street, Beatrice, NE 68310

**Refreshments will be provided**

The community is being asked to attend the public meeting to discuss and talk about Beatrice and our small business and retail trends.  It is important for us to have the input of our community in this process.

We want to share with you some of our recent successes and efforts, talk about our challenges, and hear your thoughts.  Please Plan to Attend.

Todd Barman with Barman Development Strategies is working with the Beatrice Community to help us work toward strengthening our efforts at Small Business Development.  Barman will be in Beatrice from Monday August 28 to Wednesday August 30 to see first-hand the successes and challenges we have had in Beatrice and to better understand our community assets and thoughts.  Barman will use the information gathered during his visits along with detailed market data information to help us improve our efforts.

This study has been made possible by the contributions of NGage, The Beatrice Area Chamber of Commerce, Main Street Beatrice and their member/partners.  The project has also been funded in part by a First National Bank of Omaha grant and the assistance of the Nebraska Main Street Network.
